World Trade Organisation Young Professionals Programme – Calling for applicants for 2022
Interested in trade policy as a career? See details of the WTO’s YPP programme at this link information page. Candidates must be from developing and least-developed countries that are members of the WTO. The online application form can be accessed on the WTO e-Recruitment website and should be completed no later than 29 April 2021.
The AI4D Africa Programme
This is a joint endeavour between the Swedish International Development Agency (Sida) and the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) Canada to support innovations, policy research, and skills to spur responsible AI development in Africa. It has partnered Villgro Africa, which invests in and supports sustainable social and market-based innovations across Africa, to launch a call for applications to uncover African-led AI innovations. Startups with innovations focusing on health, agriculture, climate action and finance can apply for a chance to receive incubation and up to US$10,000 in grant funding. The deadline for accepting applications is April 9.
Yunus Environment Hub applications for the second cohort of StartNow
StartNow is a self-learning platform for early-stage entrepreneurs from Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania, and Ethiopia to develop a social business plan step-by-step in 8 weeks. It blends interactive online-offline experiences for the entrepreneurs to advance on the creation and testing of their business plans, as well as providing them with tools to track their progress after finalising the incubation process. Applications are open here until April 18.
