SA Launches a New Border Authority

President Cyril Ramaphosa launched of the Border Management Authority (BMA) in October The launch of the BMA follows its formal establishment and assumption of its status as a schedule 3 (A) public entity in April 2023. The establishment of the BMA means that SA now has an integrated border management platform, with a single command and control with which to support the attainment of secure borders, safe travel and trade. In other words customs facilitation should improve. EFSA welcomes the views of ecommerce companies on their experiences with the new body – more of the same? Or a distinct improvement?
