Kenya’s B2B Ecommerce Platform Directed Towards China
Kenya has long been the darling of the Chinese ecommerce sector. Jack Ma of Alibaba selected Kenya as a major partner of Alibaba (although in the end, Alibaba’s African HQ is in Rwanda). Now Kenya is working on an online platform that will sell agricultural products such as tea, coffee, and macadamia nuts to the Chinese market, based on MoUs between the 2 countries. There are also plans for exchange programmes to boost the export of avocados. The platform is expected to reduce the new logistic supply chain challenges created by the COVID.
