The SA Department of Communications and Digital Technology Prepares a Digital Economy Strategy

The DCDT circulated a questionnaire on the digital economy and COVID in May. From this it is now preparing a national strategy on the digital economy. Business Unity South Africa (BUSA) has drafted a response, on which EFSA has commented (see above). It is not clear where the President’s 4IR Commission, which also sits under the DCDT, fits into the process. Readers will recall that that Commission was due to report early in the year, however, news on its activities have gone quiet.
