eCommerce Webinar for SMEs, June 25th, 2020 @ 3 pm EAT

Theme:
Creating value in the digital economy by enabling Sub-Sahara Africa SME’s to deploy eCommerce sites
as part of Covid-19 interventions

Background:
The Covid-19 pandemic is a health crisis that has also transitioned into a global economic crisis,
threatening the continued operation of SMEs and the livelihoods of workers everywhere, especially in
Sub-Saharan Africa. Given the role of SMEs as the backbone of the global economy, EITI, as digital for
the development firm is collaborating with all interested partners to raise awareness of the plight of these vital businesses, to provide trusted policy advice and concrete digital tools to empower SMEs in Sub-Saharan Africa.

In particular, Covid-19 has accelerated the drive for eCommerce and online cashless transactions as part
of interventions to contain the pandemic. There is now an evident need to engage in eCommerce for
SMEs in Sub Saharan Africa.
