Breaking News – Nigeria decides to sign the AfCFTA
President Buhari resolved to sign in the agreement establishing the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) last weekend. He will sign the agreement at the 12th Extraordinary Summit of African Union to hold July 4 to July 8 in Niamey, Niger Republic. According to him, his resolve to sign the treaty comes after an extensive domestic consultation.
Nigeria’s agreement to the deal comes three days after the members of ECOWAS (West Africa Economic Community) agreed to launch ECO, a single currency in the region by 2020.
