We have this as a key deliverable and a central pillar of EFA.
After considerable research of trustmarks in other parts of the world, and a number of detailed calls with the German trustmark, run by one of the German ecommerce bodies, we felt that introducing a heavy, complex system at this stage into SA would not be advisable. The cost of auditing the e-shop websites would probably put e-merchants off joining the trustmark.
We have therefore looked at a global trustmark operated by the Ecommerce Foundation out of the Netherlands. This is call Safe.Shop (https://safe.shop/uk-en/Home).
We are now discussing the details with the Ecommerce Foundation and will put the proposal to the Board. But we welcome all comments from members.
