Third-party Cookies – the latest from Europe

Third-party cookies are a rich source of data for advertisers, but in the EU the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies strict rules on personal data however collected (it also requires that any website using cookies must announce that and provide the user with a way not to have their data collected).  IAB Europe has developed a Guide to prepare brands, agencies, publishers and tech intermediaries for the much-anticipated post third-party cookie advertising ecosystem. This provides background to the current use of cookies in digital advertising today and an overview of the alternative solutions being developed. As solutions evolve, the Guide will be updated on a regular basis to provide the latest information and guidance on market alternatives to third-party cookies.
