Rwanda improves its ease of business
Rwanda has made a number of reforms that have improved the ease of doing business and is top of the 128 governments in the World Bank ranking. Rwanda introduced a record 314 reforms set to benefit small and medium businesses and entrepreneurs. Part of the reforms includes the digitisation of land records; reducing the time needed to start a business from 43 days to 4 days; increasing access to finance by passing secured transactions laws; and simplifying tax systems, making it easy to comply to tax regulations. Rwanda is also considered one of Africa’s fastest-growing economies, thanks to its rapidly urbanizing middle class. Mauritius is the next African country for ease of business according to the World Bank.
