The SA Post Office Wants to control Ecommerce Deliveries in Southern Africa

Continued rumours circulate about SAPO’s plans to dominate ecommerce delivery in Southern Africa. It is said that SAPO will launch an e-platform soon but details of the ecommerce site’s name, product offerings or when it will launch are hard to come by, despite numerous attempts to obtain more insight. SAPO was awarded the right to provide the ecommerce hub for Southern Africa back in 2018 by the Universal Postal Union following heavy lobbying by Siyabonga Cwele then Minister for Telecommunications and Postal Services.
