Good News For Credit/Debit Card Users.

Bank Zero, a new mutual bank being set up in SA has announced that it has patented advanced security features for bank cards that will minimise the negative impact of card data theft and card skimming for its customers. In modern bank cards the card number is encoded in 3 different places which are visibly embossed onto the card face, plus in the magnetic strip on the back and in the microchip. The new system Bank Zero is developing, still uses 3 card numbers, but 2 of them are invisible. This immediately increases security from fraud and as an additional advantage allows the customer to keep his/her card number and never change it.
