The Ecommerce Foundation Publishes Reports on Ecommerce in the USA and China

With a young population and growing GDP, China is showing strong growth in ecommerce, adding 76 million new online shoppers in 2018. However, as the Ecommerce Report: China 2019 shows, limitations in areas such as delivery service quality are still holding the market back. The Foundation’s previous report looks at the USA, where B2C ecommerce turnover is expected to reach more than $547 billion in 2019 with 80% of the population shopping online this year.

On the issue of external trade, China’s business has been actively searching out opportunities in Africa with delegations visiting many African countries. EFSA attend a meeting organized by the Johannesburg Chamber of Commerce, where the Chinese delegates were keenly seeking out business opportunities with SA FinTechs.
