Mzuzukile Soni is an admitted attorney with over 20 years of post-qualification experience specialising in commercial, ICT, and intellectual property law. He is the Founder of The StartUp Legal, a consultancy providing practical legal solutions to startups and SMEs, with particular focus on contracts, regulatory compliance, e-commerce governance, and IP protection. His career includes legal leadership roles at Kyndryl South Africa, IBM South Africa, Nedbank, and the South African Post Office, where he led cross-border contract negotiations, developed compliance frameworks, and advised on digital and commercial strategy across Sub-Saharan Africa. Mzuzukile is also the Founder of BrownSense Group, a pioneering e-commerce platform and marketplace that connects black-owned businesses with consumers — giving him firsthand experience of the opportunities and regulatory challenges facing digital commerce in South Africa. He contributed to the B20 Digital Transformation Task Force, contributing to global policy recommendations on digital inclusion, data governance, and innovation under the G20 framework.
