Conforming with the POPIA

Lots of events are going to be held on how you must apply the Protection of Personal Information Act, but if you want the real news and guidance watch out for EFSA’s fireside chats with experts in POPIA for ecommerce!

There will be a short article in this month’s Newsletter and then we plan to put up on YouTube four ‘fireside chats’ with Thomas Reisenberger of Legalese (EFSA’s lawyer), Rieka van Wyk (PayU’s data protection expert), Warrick Kernes (Insaka Academy as host) and Alastair Tempest (EFSA’s CEO with over 25 years of data privacy experience in Europe and SA).

Meanwhile, be aware that as of 1 May all companies must appoint an Information Officer – https://www.sanews.gov.za/south-africa/countdown-compliance-protection-personal-information-act
