The Drone Council of South Africa is launched

The minister of the Department of Communications and Digital Technologies (DCDT), Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams, launched the Drone Council South Africa this month. The Council is a non-profit organisation which aims to encourage growth of the SA drone economy, and plans various programmes and initiatives, including drone industry collaboration, business incubation, industry sectoral optimisation and investment, ‘massification’ of drone pilot training, SA industry global competitiveness, industry transformation, harnessing manufacturing and maintenance capacity. Readers will recall that a Drone Academy was set up in Malawi last year. EFSA has approached the new Drone Council and awaits a reply.
